No Depression, “Your Roots Music Authority” quarterly print addition is a real throwback. Oversize, no ads, tons of content and excellent photography. For those with big ears and a tactile feel for the page, it’s well worthy of a subscription. Their online presence is just as strong and features an every few weeks photo-centric “Through the Lens” column. A column I proudly contribute as one of many who bring their craft and a keen eye to the roots and Americana music they love, and which shined some light on my work and process with this piece a while back. Many thanks to Photo Editor, Amos Perrine, for the inclusion and I am especially appreciative of mixing my jazz coverage to an audience that might kind of lean another way.
